Building a shot list is a critical part of planning any shoot. Scenario helps you organize your shots and communicate them with others, regardless of how you want to work.

View options

The Shot List can be displayed two ways:

  • As a left sidebar

    • Open with the CMD S keystroke

    • View only critical information. Shot number, name, status, cam, and frame image

    • Other properties can be seen in the Details sidebar (on the right)

  • Full-screen (by clicking the » button)

    • Open with the CMD Shift S keystroke

    • View a full list of all information

    • Click « to get back to the sidebar

Building the shot list

A “shot” is a row on the shot list; it may or may not be associated with a camera on the diagram. (A shot has a slate icon; a camera has a camera icon.)

There are two approaches to create a shot:

  1. Add a camera to the diagram → it automatically appears on the shot list

  2. Add a shot directly to the shot list → add it to the diagram whenever you’d like

This means that you can build your shot list by listing all your shots first, or building your diagram – or a combination of the two. In addition:

  • Shots/cameras can be added, deleted, and re-ordered at any time

  • Right-click to “Convert to Camera” or “Convert to Shot,” which adds or removes an associated camera from the diagram

    • For a shot, just drag it onto the diagram to convert to camera and place it in a specific spot

  • Use “dividers” to add more context, such as a lighting turnaround, company move, or meal

Sharing

Scenario work is meant to be shared! The best way to do that is to add your crew to your project, but there’s always a paper option.

  • Choose Share > Shot List to export to PDF

  • Select the portrait or landscape orientation
