Network & Contacts

Let's take a quick look at how to manage your professional network. So, we're here on the network tab. You see it's over here on the left side. And right now, we don't have any contacts. I'm on iPad right now. You can look at this on the web view as well, but you're not going to be able to import from there. But let's do a little bit of setup first. So, first I'm going to set up my groups. I don't have any groups yet. So, I'm going to create a new one. And just call this one favorites because we all know we have them. Um, and then I'm going to break it down a little more. Let's say I want to have my DPS and let's say I want to have electric. So now I have some uh some groups set up here. Let's I can reorganize these if I want to. Um, but this is the order they're going to appear in when I select them. So I don't see if I've worked with any crew. No. So, don't have any contacts right now. So, what I want to do is I want to be able to import contacts that I already have on my device. You know, we have our whole address book full of people. So, all I need to do is go to import contacts right here. And it's going to bring up my contacts like this. Now, this is uh you know, permission based access. You can add uh whoever you want. Um, but for uh for this one, I'm going to go ahead and find Khaled, and that's all I got to do. Now, I can select multiple people there if I want to. Um, I'm just going to do one for now. And we can see that he already has a scenario account. So, I'm going to be connecting directly to his account already. Um, now what I can do from here is I can choose groups that I want to. Let's say I was importing a bunch of DPS. So I'd uh I'd add DPS to there. Um but of course K's going to go in favorites. So I'm going to go ahead and import one and it's going to add him there. Now because of his account permissions, email and phone are hidden. But you see that the groups were applied. Uh, and now I have him as a contact and he's going to receive an email um to to tell him that he uh has been added to my contacts and then he can add me to his. Um, now if I import somebody who does not have a scenario account yet, they'll also receive an email and they can set up an account and once they do, they'll be connected to your contacts as well. We can do here is um use uh groups in searches. So we have a little shortcut here. So, we just say new search and um you see that now I have a search called favorites over here and the groups are favorites. But you can customize this all you want just to make it easy to uh to find the people that you're looking for.

We've released a lot of features recently that have to do with making better diagrams, which is great. That's one of the main things that scenario does is you make your plans, but we always have to remember that there is no way to execute these plans unless you have a crew. And in order to always have crew, you need to build your network, which is why we have added a new section of scenario. Go up here to projects to a little arrow and switch to the network screen. So, this is where you can keep track of everybody that you've worked with and uh find new people that you're going to work with. You can think of contacts as friends basically. Um you make direct connections with people. You can add and remove them as you like. Um and then extended contacts are like friends of friends. They are people who are contacts with your contacts. Same is kind of true with crew. Crew is people that you have actually worked with. Uh so you're in the same crew on different projects. Um and worked with crew is people who have worked with the people you have worked with. You can also add your own searches. So if you hit new search here um you can you can uh you know select any number of things to filter people by and then just search through them and find anybody uh whose information is out there. Anybody who has an actual account. You do see that email and phone are hidden on a lot of these. And the reason there is that we have this section here in account privacy. So you can choose who can see what about you and who can find you by different parts of it. Now you see here uh you can find me by about me or by location info. And those are actually in here as well. Location info is here. You can tell people where you work, that type of thing. Uh where you travel to and here about me, you can describe the type of work you do. Feel free to use those any way you'd like. So we can see I'm signed in in an incognito window over here. So we have contacts and then we have invitations. These are people who have added you as a contact but you have not added them back. So you see right now I have review starter. Uh and that's what this account is. So this contact I've added review pro which is the other one. And so I've added them. They have not added me. There aren't any that have added me that I haven't added back. So, uh, so that is how you keep track of everybody. Now, if there's somebody who doesn't have a scenario account yet, or maybe you just can't find them, you can always just invite contacts. So, go here, type in an email, and uh, hit send invites, and it will send them an email. Uh, whether or not they have an actual account, they'll just get an email, and they'll be able to either go in and add you, or they'll be able to go in and sign up for an account. Uh, this is available for uh, for starter and for pro. So feel free to build your network. Uh and this is just the beginning of this.
